Centipede
Centipede is a creeping grass that has leaves that are slightly wider than most warm season turf grasses. Although central and south Georgia offers the best growing environment, centipede will do well as far north as Atlanta and Athens when maintained properly.

  • Warm season turf that performs best in full sun to light shade.
  • Frequent mowing at 1-2 inches with sharp blade will limit thatch build up and reduce susceptibility to disease and winter injury.
  • Proper maintenance will produce a medium green color and good turf density.
  • Tolerance to low fertility results in slower growth and less frequent mowing.

The Capital City Turf team is a leading producer of quality centipede for our market.
